Composite Technician

The Composite Group is a leading provider of innovative composite and fibreglass products into a wide range of industry sectors.  We are looking for fibreglass laminator to join our (Bromley) Christchurch manufacturing team. Applicants will need to have skills that cover:

 Mould Preparation
 Gel Coating
 Light Resin Transfer Moulding (LRTM), Laminating, Resin Infusion, Vacuum Bagging
 Glassing by hand and chopper gun
 Pre-finishing, Trimming, Grinding
 Swimming pool preparation, glassing, and gel coating
 2 Years Work Experience

As well as a positive can-do attitude, a reliable work history and demonstrate good practical construction or mechanical skills.  The ability to work unsupervised, excellent attention to detail are also required. The work will be varied, and involve some travel and working away from home from time to time.

A pre-employment medical will be required before the applicant would be appointed to the position.

Pacific Helmets – Composites Assistant

We are looking for a focused person to be work within the Composites department at Pacific Helmets Ltd.

Reporting to the Head Composites Design Engineer, this role will focus on assisting the composites department where ever required. Implementing our tooling into production.

Formal NZQA Composites qualifications and experience is not essential, however will be highly regarded. The below skills are desirable but not essential.

Preferred skills

Have basic laminating and gelcoating skills
Basic skills in making R.T.M moulds
Making jigs/tooling
Maintenance/repair all types of tooling/moulds
Basic Engineering and woodwork
Know how to use air and power tools
Can work out percentages
Work safely with machinery/tools and chemicals

Personal qualities  

Good time keeping
Fit in with the team
Can work unsupervised
Clean and tidy in their work space/workmanship
Can think ahead and work to time lines
Not afraid to ask for help
Eye for detail
Able to problem solve
Comfortable working with chemicals and fibreglass
